Possible new player to the game
Hi all! I have played a couple trials of Guild Wars in the past but never had the time to devote to getting in to it until now. However, I do NOT plan to move to GW2... at least not right away.
My main concern is: is it worth it at this point? I would pretty much play for story or small group PvE content, but I wouldn't want to devote that attention to a character just to see it get deleted with a server shutdown in a matter of months. Thoughts? |

Server shutdown isn't likely for at least a few years, if not longer.

ANet has said that as long as there are people playing GW1, the servers will be up.
If you enjoyed the trials and are interested in playing a great game, then yes, it's worth it. There is renewed interest in GW1 with the eminent release of GW2, so the population has increased a bit in the last year or so. Plus there will be plenty of people that start out in GW2 and decide they want to experience the first game. On it's own, GW1 is fun. So go for it. When you get in, feel free to add me to your friends list (Shana Asae Suna). I'll be happy to answer questions or whatever. |
